Fake or Fam is a free quiz game made for WhatsApp and Instagram. You answer 10 questions about yourself, share one link, and every friend or partner who plays lands on your private scoreboard with a score out of 10. It runs in English, Hindi and Hinglish, stores only nicknames, and spreads on its own as players make quizzes of their own.

The Problem

Most quiz apps are played once and forgotten. The goal was a quiz people actually send to each other: quick to make on a phone, fun to receive in a WhatsApp group, readable in English, Hindi and Hinglish, and light on personal data.

The Solution

I built Fake or Fam, a quiz you make about yourself. You answer 10 questions, get one link, and every friend or partner who plays it is scored on your private scoreboard. Every player is one tap away from making a quiz of their own, so the app grows through the same links people share.

What I Built

  • Quiz builder with 10 picture questions about yourself and skips, ready to share in about two minutes
  • One share link for WhatsApp, Instagram and Snapchat, with a link preview that names the sender
  • Private scoreboard behind a secret key, with each player's score out of 10 and every answer they picked
  • English, Hindi and Hinglish throughout, with an optional Hindi voice
  • No accounts or sign-up: only nicknames are stored, for 90 days
  • Hand-drawn mascots Pip and Boo, plus a guides section in English and Hindi with structured data so the app is found on Google

The Result

Fake or Fam is live at www.fakefame.online. By October 2026 players had made more than 1,200 quizzes, and friends had played them more than 2,800 times.
