QuickMenu — Case Study
QR Menu & Ordering App · Restaurants / SaaS · 2026
QuickMenu replaces the PDF menu behind a QR code with a real ordering system. Guests order from their phone and follow the order from Sent to Ready, the kitchen display rings for every new order, and the owner manages the menu, analytics and feedback from one dashboard.
The Problem
Restaurants wanted more than a PDF menu behind a QR code. Guests should be able to order from their phone, the kitchen should hear the order land, and the guest should see it move from Sent to Ready without having to ask a waiter.
The Solution
I built QuickMenu, a QR menu and ordering system that connects the table, the kitchen and the owner in real time. Every table gets its own QR code, and orders, waiter calls and status changes reach the right screen the moment they happen.
What I Built
- Digital menu with categories, item availability and a QR code for each table
- Ordering from the phone with a live status tracker for the guest
- Kitchen display with a sound alert for every new order
- Call bell for waiter, water or bill, sent to the dashboard in real time
- Owner dashboard with menu management, analytics and customer feedback
- React, TypeScript and Supabase with row level security, realtime and dark mode
The Result
QuickMenu is live at quickmenu-cpt.pages.dev. An order now makes the full loop on its own: placed from the table, announced on the kitchen screen, and tracked by the guest until it is ready, without anyone relaying it by hand.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does QR code ordering work in QuickMenu?
Each table has its own QR code. A guest scans it, browses the menu on their phone and places an order; the kitchen display rings with the new order, and the guest sees its status change until it is ready. Guests can also call a waiter, ask for water or request the bill from the same screen.
What technology stack is QuickMenu built on?
QuickMenu is built with React and TypeScript on Supabase, with row level security on the database and realtime updates for orders, waiter calls and status changes. It also supports dark mode.
